- Teaching Assistant Professor
Description
We are seeking a dynamic and committed educator to teach 9 credit hours per semester. This position would primarily serve the online and residential Master of Professional Science students enrolled in CHIP, although course enrollments would also include undergraduate and PhD students. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will also serve on committee(s) related to administering the CHIP program as well as advise students, offering academic guidance and supporting their professional development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic and intellectual growth of future health informatics professionals.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Master’s degree in health informatics, information science, computer science, or a related field
* Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level
* Proficiency in written and spoken English
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to convey complex information clearly
* Working knowledge of health informatics tools and technologies including some of: electronic health records, medical and claims data, databases, programming, data science, implementation science, systems analysis
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* PhD in health informatics, information science, computer science, or a related field
* Record of success in teaching curriculum development, or academic advising at the college or university level
* Proficiency in creating engaging instructional material and visual content
* Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborative academic and professional environments
