The Informaticist, Physician is responsible for advancing the use of electronic health (EHR) and dental (EDR) records and other Health Information Technologies (HIT) to promote high-quality, cost-effective health care, patient satisfaction, and provider/staff satisfaction throughout the organization. The Physician assists in the development of strategies around quality improvement/reporting, improving clinical workflows and processes, increasing provider EHR expertise, and ensuring the health information technology is implemented within the organization in a meaningful way. The Physician Informaticist assists and leads the design and execution of EHR clinical workflows and process development change that maximizes patient safety, quality of care, and operational efficiency. The Physician Informaticist plays a key role in the EHR or new project implementation at existing and/or new sites and is actively involved with regular technology upgrades within the organization. In partnership with medical and dental staff leaders, helps to ensure value realization with technology investments. Partners and works closely with the Epic Training Team and Medical Education to address needs for providers and staff, and models proper use of technology. Will also provide primary care medical services to AltaMed patients and manage the assigned patient panel.
Minimum Requirements
Experience and training as a physician.
Physician with an active, unrestricted CA license to practice medicine by the Medical Board of California.
Education, training, and experience are necessary to meet the underwritten requirements for inclusion under AltaMed's malpractice insurance coverage.
Education and training are necessary to obtain a medical degree.
Requires a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
Board Certification in the primary care specialty is required. Board Certification in Clinical Informatics, or Master's Degree in Clinical/Health Informatics, preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred, depending on location.
Previous experience with computer-based systems is required, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience is required.
Prior EHR implementation experience preferred.
Certification from Epic is preferred.
Leadership and/or management skills preferred.
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Compensation
$236,376.06 - $295,470.07 annuallyCompensation Disclaimer
Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change. AltaMed is committed to ensuring a fair and competitive compensation package that reflects the candidate's value and the role's strategic importance within the organization.
